With school starting, there is a need to interact with others off-line (unless you are participating in online school). This may be a bit overwhelming if you are starting at a new school or find yourself in a class with no one you know.

How do you make friends without the "add friends" button?

Start with "hi, my name is...."

If nothing follows the name exchange, the next tried-and-true method is to talk about the weather. The ensuing conversation could reveal commonalities.

Such as, "The weather has been so hot, I can't ride my bike."

Then the conversation could turn to types of bikes or favorite places to ride.

Then try to remember their name at your next encounter.
